Incorporating Diversity Science into your Practice
Course Description: This two-part course (September 11th and October 9th) is designed to introduce diversity science and cultural humility within the practice of healthcare. This course focuses on (1) centering the lived experiences of multi diverse communities; (2) conceptualizing bias on various social divisions of difference as factors that impact social determinants of health; (3) developing critical self-consciousness to better understand how one’s perspectives and experiences might inform their practice; and (4) implementing strategies to address bias in healthcare settings.
To maximize your experience, this is one course, divided over two sessions. You must attend the first session in order to attend the second. There will be asynchronous work to complete between the September 11th and October 9th sessions.

This course will meet the new Oregon state licensee requirement for 1 CE of cultural competency training. OAA members will be offered early bird registration prior to opening this up to non-members.
